Flag Lowering - Indigenous Veterans Day

The flags at Town Hall have been lowered to half-mast for Indigenous Veterans Day. Every year on November 8, we honour the immeasurable contributions and sacrifices made by First Nations, Inuit and Métis veterans.
Indigenous Veterans Day is a solemn occasion to recognize the unwavering courage and resilience exhibited by Indigenous service members.
Today we reflect on the profound impact of their service and express our deepest gratitude for their continued selfless commitment.

Flag Lowering - National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today staff gathered with members of council, as well as attendees from the public to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30).
Patricia Monague, Culture and Heritage Coordinator for Beausoleil First Nation started us off with a smudging ceremony and prayer. Followed by words from Mayor Gordon, with other attendees sharing personal sentiments and experiences.

Today Town staff gathered with members of Council and representatives from Terry Fox Day in the Heart of Georgian Bay to raise the Terry Fox Day flag. 🙌

Today members of the community gathered with staff, Mayor Gordon, Warden Clarke and representatives from the Midland Fire Department, OPP and Simcoe County Paramedics to commemorate International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜 #endoverdose #ioad
