Wastewater Sewer Overflow Report April 6, 2023

On April 5, 2023 Midland’s wastewater collection system experienced an overflow of 1640.4 cubic meters of highly diluted sewage due to excessive rainfall and snowmelt. All regulatory reporting requirements have been met.

Please note that the overflow waters received basic disinfection and dichlorination. See the Sewage Overflows page to view the Emergency Overflow Report dated April 6, 2023 and learn more about why overflows happen and how we manage them.

Fiber Optic Cables in Midland

What is the drilling happening around Midland?

Bell and Rogers are doing a major Fibre Optic upgrade to improve internet services throughout Ontario based on Bill 93, Getting Ontario Connected Act, 2022. 

You may find flags being place on lawns around Midland, these are locate flags which are part of the process before the directional drilling work can be done. None of the work is controlled or completed by the Town of Midland.
