Midland declares Significant Weather Event on March 28, 2025

The significant weather event has been declared due based on Environment Canada’s freezing rain warning. The warning identifies a major ice storm taking place overnight and through the weekend. 

This weekend’s forecast is likely to cause hazardous road conditions with layered ice accumulation, residents may also experience power outages and localized flooding in low-lying areas.

The Town of Midland has declared a significant weather event as of 4:00 p.m. March 28, 2025

The significant weather event has been declared based on Environment Canada’s freezing rain warning. The warning identifies a major ice storm taking place overnight and through the weekend. 

This weekend’s forecast is likely to cause hazardous road conditions with layered ice accumulation, residents may also experience power outages and localized flooding in low-lying areas.

Temporary Lane Closure - Hugel Avenue

Where: Westbound Lane on Hugel Avenue; from First Street to King Street. 

When: Today - Friday, March 28, 2025 

Detour: Avoid the closure by using parallel roads. 

Why: Sewer infrastructure repairs

Other Information: 

• Motorists are to take caution of workers on site.
• The sidewalk along the westbound lane is closed.

Where: Section of Victoria Street will be closed, from Woodland Drive to Edmond Street.
