The Corporation of the Town of Midland Planning Department will hold a hybrid (virtual and in-person) Public Meeting on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 starting at 6:00pm.

This proposed Housekeeping Zoning By-law Amendment applies to all lands within the Town of Midland.
The Town initiated Zoning By-law Housekeeping Exercise is to improve the day-to-day use and application of the Zoning By-law. The housekeeping exercise proposes to make the following changes:

Midland raises flag for International Overdose Awareness Day

Today members of the community gathered with staff, Mayor Gordon, and representatives from the Midland Fire Department to acknowledge International Overdose Awareness Day, which takes place annual on August 31. Join together to raise awareness, address the stigma surrounding addiction and remember those we have lost to drug toxicity. Together, we can make a difference.

Where: Section of Dominion Avenue will be closed, from Eighth Street to Seventh Street.
When: Friday, August 30, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Detour Suggestion: Use Hugel Avenue or Bay Street. Open to local traffic only.

Boil Water Advisory for Midland Rescinded (lifted) by Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit

The Boil Water Advisory issued for the East Pressure Zone of Midland on August 26, 2024, has been lifted today (August 27, 2024) by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. Laboratory test results have confirmed that the water is free from contamination and is safe to drink. Any facilities that were closed as a result of the advisory can now reopen after taking the necessary precautions.
