What is the drilling happening around Midland?
Bell and Rogers are doing a major Fibre Optic upgrade to improve internet services throughout Ontario based on Bill 93, Getting Ontario Connected Act, 2022.
You may find flags being place on lawns around Midland, these are locate flags which are part of the process before the directional drilling work can be done. None of the work is controlled or completed by the Town of Midland.

Flag Raising - #ITSTARTS

Today the Town of Midland hosted a flag raising with staff and council to acknowledge the entire month of March as #ITSTARTS month! #ITSTARTS is working to bring awareness and education about diversity and inclusion, and reduce racism and discrimination in our communities.

Icebreaking in Midland

The Canadian Coast Guard advises residents in Midland, Ontario that the CCGS Samuel Risley will carry out icebreaking operations in the area March 17 and 18, 2023.
The date and assets are subject to change with no notice, as activities could begin before or after that period, depending on operational requirements or weather conditions.
