Back to SearchIt is with deep sorrow that the Town of Midland has lowered all Municipal flags to half-mast following the passing of Councillor Jim Downer. Councillor Downer passed away this morning, June 27, 2024. Our hearts and condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues and the rest of our community.
Councillor Downer’s tenure as a pillar in our community spanned almost 30 years, sitting on Town Council as a Councillor, Deputy Mayor, and Mayor. He is known to many for his compassionate leadership, his dedication to the growth of our community and his genuine love for Midland. Councillor Downer’s passing will leave an absence in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
