Applications to renew dog tag licenses will open in January 2025.

Credit card payment only.

Complete the online form (available in 2025) and upload a valid rabies vaccination certificate from your pet's veterinarian.

Licenses will be processed within 2 business days of receipt of application.

Dog tags will be mailed to the address specified on the application.

Or, you can pick up your dog tag at the Town Hall at 575 Dominion Avenue.

Purchase your dog tag at the Municipal Office.

You must bring a hard copy of your pet's rabies vaccination certificate at the time of purchase.

The Dog Tag Application can be completed conveniently ahead of time or at the office when you arrive.

Email your completed Dog Tag Application with an electronic copy of your pet's rabies certificate here.

Customer Service staff will contact you by phone within 2 business days for credit card information. Please do not include credit card information in the email.

Once the license is processed the tag will be mailed to you, or, you can pick it up at the municipal office.

What is the cost of a Dog Tag?

New for 2024:

Multi-year dog tags are now phased out. Tags previously purchased for 2024 and 2025 will be honoured during those years.

A 'lifetime' tag will be issued in 2024 (unless you have a valid 2-year tag). Registration is required annually after the first lifetime tag is issued, which can be done conveniently online or in person at the Municipal Office.

Guide Dogs and Service Dogs

Guide and Service Dogs must be licensed however fees are waived (maximum of 2 dogs total per household).

Written proof that your dog is recognized as a service dog by a licensed practitioner is required.

If you are licensing a service dog please register in person at the municipal office at 575 Dominion Avenue or by e-mail to avoid payment by using the fillable Dog Tag Application form.
