"Thank you all for coming today. We’re here with representatives from the Midland Salvation Army to celebrate the Kettle Campaign, one of Canada’s largest and most recognizable annual charitable events.
Every time you walk into a grocery store, a mall, or a community centre you see a familiar symbol of the holiday season, the Salvation Army Kettle. In fact, there are more than 2000 kettle locations across Canada that support a wide range of Salvation Army programs.
There are six kettles around the North Simcoe area, four being in Midland at the LCBO, Walmart, Real Canadian Superstore, and Canadian Tire. One kettle in Penetanguishene Village Square Mall and one at the Waubaushene LCBO.
Funds raised through Midland Salvation Army’s Kettle Campaign directly help the people in our community. Funding their Christmas Hamper Program, where hundreds of youth will receive a hamper this holiday season. Additionally, funds gathered this holiday season directly sustain their food bank well into 2024, as well as their outreach program.
To the volunteers who selflessly give their time, the compassionate staff that are a support to our community, the people who stop to donate what they can, and to each person with us today – let us celebrate the kindness and warmth of North Simcoe.
Together we can make a difference in someone's life. Visit the Midland Salvation Army’s website to see how you can get involved and volunteer or donate.
Thank you to the Salvation Army for being the heart of this incredible initiative." - Mayor Bill Gordon
