YIMBY encourages a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone has access to safe, affordable, and a hopeful place to call home. As a community, we are all called on to be active participants in positively shaping our spaces.
Have you heard of the statement “Not In My Back Yard”, or NIMBY? This ideology is something we can no longer hold space for. NIMBY is rooted in self-interest and fear. YIMBY offers a proactive approach by engaging in constructive dialogue, addressing concerns with empathy, and by gathering together to educate and listen, we can build towards a positive outcome.
