Highlights from 2024 Hope, Housing and Health event

On November 14, 2024, the Town and Midland Public Library hosted a two-part event for the community to share ideas and information about topics surrounding community safety, homelessness, and substance use disorders in Downtown Midland.

Highlights from the afternoon session

The afternoon session hosted by the Midland Public Library allowed residents and community members to interact with staff from various local organizations. This interactive open house fostered meaningful conversations and provided insights into the services and support available within our community.

Highlights from the evening session

The Town hosted the evening session that featured an impactful presentation from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on food insecurity. Following the presentation, a panel of experts in the field addressed an audience of over 120 attendees, engaging in a dynamic discussion and addressing questions and comments from the community. This event underscored the importance of community collaboration and highlighted the resources available to address critical issues such as food insecurity and homelessness.
