Midland proclaims Firefighters’ National Memorial Day

Whereas; The Government of Canada declared the second Sunday in September to be Firefighters’ National Memorial Day, this day stands as a tribute to the firefighters who risk their lives to keep Canadians safe and to honour those who have lost their lives in the line of duty; and

Whereas; Canadian firefighters bring remarkable expertise, passion, courage, and commitment to a dangerous, but vital job – one that all Canadians rely on; and

Whereas; The Town of Midland is grateful for the Midland Fire Department and their dedication to Midland, firefighters provide a critical service to our community, safe-guarding the safety and well-being of those who live and visit Midland; and

Whereas; Recognizing Firefighters’ National Memorial Day is imperative to show the gratitude for the courageous Canadian and international firefighters who continue to put their lives at risk.

Therefore, I, Bill Gordon, Mayor of the Town of Midland, hereby proclaims September 8, 2024, as “Firefighters’ National Memorial Day,” in the Town of Midland.
