Whereas, Anti-Bullying Day, also known as Pink Shirt Day, is an international initiative, started in Canada, to take a stand against all forms of bullying; and

Whereas, bullying is a learned behaviour and occurs in all age groups and social situations; not just in the schoolyard, but also in the workplace, at home, and on the internet; and
Whereas, the Town of Midland is committed to fostering a sense of belonging for all and integrating a Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Belonging (DIEB) lens into decision making, planning and delivery of services; and
Whereas, all Citizens have a role to play in preventing bullying and speaking up against bullying; and
Whereas, Anti-bullying Day provides an opportunity to promote kindness, togetherness and inclusion by lifting each other up.
Therefore, I, Bill Gordon, Mayor of the Town of Midland, do hereby proclaim the 28th day of February 2024 as “Anti-Bullying Day” in the Town of Midland, and encourage citizens to wear pink and practice these principles today and every day.
