The Town currently offers two types of Pre-Consultation, being Preliminary Review Requests and Pre-Consultation Requests as described below.
While no longer required as a result of Bill 185, the Town strongly encourages applicants to participate in pre-consultation.

The Town now offers an optional service for landowners or prospective purchasers to engage with the Town on a specific property in circumstances where:
This option also allows a project proponent to request comment on potential development and/or planning act applications before they advance through the mandatory Pre-Consultation process. This service may include, but is not limited to:

Pre-Consultation is strongly encouraged prior to submitting any of the following applications:
Upon submission of a request form, and the Town confirms that minimum requirements (as identified in the application portal linked below) have been met, the Town will coordinate a pre-consultation meeting with the applicant, other commenting departments and/or applicable agencies. The pre-consultation process concludes with the issuance of a Record of Consultation which will list the required plans, reports, and studies when submitting a Planning Act application. It may also include the issuance of Terms of Reference for the related plans, reports and/or studies. A fee for this service is required and is outlined in the Composite Fees and Charges By-law.
