Host an Event
The Town of Midland is a great place to host a wide range of outdoor events. This includes events such as festivals, block parties, walks/runs, parades, competitions, concerts, fireworks, water events and family events.
Reviewing the Special Events Planning Guide as well as the Special Event Policy and completing the Special Events Application is the first step to hosting your event in Midland. The Event Organizer must complete the Special Events Application as well as all other applicable requirements.
Timelines
The Special Event Application Process shall follow these deadlines:
- A minimum of six (6) months prior to a Major Event.
Major Event means a Special Event that includes any and/or all of the following criteria: anticipated attendance of 1000 or more, a licensed area, a road closure of more than one block within the Downtown core or the closure of the road through Little Lake Park.
- A minimum of three (3) months prior to a Minor Event.
Minor Event means a Special Event with an anticipated attendance of less than 1000, no licensed area, and no road closures.
Funding
Your event may be eligible for full or partial funding. We have a community grant that funds local not-for-profit groups and registered charities. Applications for Community Grants typically open in the spring for projects the following year.

Promote Your Event
Once your event has been approved by staff and the logistics have been coordinated, we welcome you to post your approved event to our Community Calendar.
