Kids Fishing Derby
We hope all our anglers had a great day June 1, 2024 for our annual Kids Fishing Derby from 9:00am – 12:00pm.

The Kids Fishing Derby is always free of charge for all local children up to and including the age of 16 years.
Registration takes place in the morning at 9:00am at the Town of Midland booth beside the Harbour Office at 165 King Street. Each angler receives free bait, a hot dog, juice box, and all participants receive a prize!
For the 2024 Kids Fishing Derby, we had six bikes donated by our generous sponsors. The event is for fun, catching a fish is a bonus! All local children who register and participate will be entered into the draw to win the donated bikes and a helmet. Participants must be in attendance to win.
This event is always well attended and is very much enjoyed by all local children.
Bike Rodeo
All children are encouraged to bring their bike and their helmet to the bike rodeo! The OPP will be joining the Kids Fishing Derby for a fun and informative Bike Rodeo. It will consist of checking tires, making sure handles are tight, checking the fit of helmets and making sure helmets are not expired. They will also be hosting a fun obstacle course and giving a brief overview of the rules of the road for bike safety.
Sparky
The Midland Fire Department will be in attendance with their fun loving mascot Sparky. Come say hi to Sparky and meet some of our dedicated fire fighters.
Bluey and Skye
Beloved animated characters Bluey, as well as Skye from Paw Patrol visited the Fishing Derby. They were both hanging out and giving high-fives and smiles. Many children had the opportunity to have the photo taken with Bluey and Skye.
Face Painting
We had a professional face painter on site to paint children's faces throughout the event, free of charge.
