Midland is a town of lush greenery, multi-use trails, parks, our Little Lake and our harbour as the gateway to Georgian Bay. Our community boasts four-season attractions such as power and sail boating, many marinas, snowmobiling, cycling, a revitalized downtown core with boutique shopping and dining options, and a wide variety of accommodation choices.
Midland's manufacturing sector is world-class as are our many health and wellness services. We are blessed with a wide variety of local healthcare and social service providers not the least of which is the Georgian Bay General Hospital. We host a wide variety of special events such as the Tall Ships and Tugboats, Great Lakes cruise ships, arts, murals, cultural and food festivals especially the award winning Ontario's Best Butter Tart Festival.
Our residents are hard-working, honest, and kind-hearted and welcome visitors from near and far by water, land and air from our local airport. Our community consists of a rich tapestry of First Nations and Métis cultures bordering our North Simcoe neighbours in Penetanguishene to the North, Tiny Township to the West and Tay township to the East. We boast public transit, excellent emergency services, a full-service library, a world-class cultural centre and performing arts, museums, local artisans, galleries, a large sports and recreation centre, a local YMCA and big box retailers in addition to a wide variety of local niche retailers that help keep you shopping locally for all your home and cottage needs.
